Jezioro Klimkówka

The Klimkówka Lake

Hidden among the wild ranges of the Low Beskids, the lake was created thanks to the dam separating the Ropa river (about 18 km south of the Gorlice). It is accessible from road no. 28 Nowy Sącz - Jasło, following the road from Ropa to Uście Gorlickie. The lake is known primarily to windsurfing enthusiasts because it has excellent conditions for this sport. However, there are no official or life-guarded swimming areas.

Klimkówka Lake, an alternative not only for sunbathers.

Also known as the Klimkówka Lagoon or the Klimkowskie Lake, it is a dam reservoir created on the Ropa river, located approx. 18 km from the town of Gorlice. It is considered to be one of the most attractive and charming artificial reservoirs in the Carpathian Mountains. The lake is relatively large, 25 meters deep, 300-400 meters wide and 2.5-4 kilometres long. Due to the sandy shore, the place is very popular in summer among sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts. There are even summer houses and campsites in the area, and in the lagoon you can rent water tourism equipment (pedalos, canoes, boats). In autumn, the lake delights with a panorama of the colourful Gorlice Pieniny reflecting in the water, which makes an extraordinary impression especially at sunset and dynamic autumn skies. There are also bicycle paths in the area. By the way, it is worth visiting the centre of the village of Klimkówka, where there is a brick church.
