The Bochnia Salt Mine is the oldest rock salt mine in Poland. The complex offers four routes for visitors, which differ in form and degree of difficulty.
Tourists can easily get acquainted with the history of the mine as part of the Multimedia Underground Exhibition, which is an extraordinary expedition through the most beautiful and most interesting workings with unique chambers and underground chapels, experience an extreme adventure during the Historic “Expedition into the Old Mountains” and see the fluorescent salt crystals as part of the Nature Route. Visitors can also travel “In the Footsteps of the Bochnia Miners”. Among the mine’s attractions, there is also the underground mining train that transports tourists along the tourist route, a 140 m slide connecting two levels of the mine, as well as an underground boat crossing. Since June 2013, the mine has been among the objects inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
